How I spend Christmas

My family was very involved in church, so we always attended the Christmas Eve service there. It is still my favorite service and I miss it if I don't go to one. After the service we would drive about half an hour to my aunt's house where the whole extended family would gather. I had four cousins, and there were five kids in my family, so we spent the time running around and playing with the train set in the basement. The adults had drinks and snacks and talked about adult things. My mom and her two sisters always got giggling together. I loved to sit upstairs with them and see them laugh so hard. It was a lot of fun. On Christmas day, my parents made us wait until 6am to come down to open our Christmas stockings. It was hard to wait! After we finished with the stockings, we'd eat a big breakfast, and then open the gifts under the Christmas tree. The rest of the day we played with our gifts, and we had another big meal in the afternoon. Then it was naptime for everyone, including my parents!
