"Civil disobedience" is when you break the law or social rules on purpose to bring attention to a cause (a principle or aim that a group supports or fights for) and push for change. People may be arrested when performing civil disobedience.

  1. Can you think of any examples of civil disobedience that have happened in the world? What were the people fighting for? What action did they do?
  2. Is there a cause you think is worth being arrested for? What is it, and why do you feel that way?
