An interviewer asks this question to assess how ambitious, as well as realistic, you are. If you talk about a goal that's unattainable, the interviewer will see you as a dreamer who may not be good at working towards realistic goals. If you talk about a goal that is easily reached, the interviewer will think you aren't ambitious enough to pursue excellence. Think about what you actually hope to achieve by the time you retire. You may not reach that goal, and it may change, but for this interview, give your best answer as it is true right now.
