Some large companies are making the switch to English as the official in-house language. What do you think about it? What are the pitfalls of such a move? What is to be gained? Would you like for your company to have such a policy?
My company is pretty small, and we only do business domestically. For me, it wouldn't make sense for us to switch to English. However, if I worked for a bigger company that did business internationally, then I would have to agree that it is the right thing to do. The only way that some people will put the effort and time into learning English is if you force them.
